The human behind New Leaf
Hi, I’m Catherine!
I'm a business coach who helps other therapists build practices that are aligned, profitable, and dare I say- FUN.
I’m also
Korean-American (Yes, I love K-Dramas and K-pop, but my favorite is Korean FOOD)
First-gen college student & first-gen business owner
Neurodivergent (late diagnosed like a lot of us women of color)
Obsessed with petting all the dogs (gimme all the dog pics)
Still a therapist and owner of Reclaim Counseling here in the Pacific NW
Why New Leaf?
I chose this name because sometimes growth is more about pruning and letting go.
In plants, pruning can encourage new, healthier growth. I love that as a metaphor for business because most times you don’t have to throw everything out.
Sometimes you just need to take a step back, figure out what’s working, let go of what isn’t, and give the good stuff some room to grow.
That’s the kind of growth I want New Leaf to help create.
I built this for 28 year old me,
Newly graduated from her masters in counseling but already burnt out- little did she know she would fall into an even deeper burnout that she’d have to fight to crawl out of.
Private practice changed my life and brought back my zest for being both a therapist and human again and I’m eternally grateful for this business of mine.
It was a windy road to get to this point of success.
Starting my private practice was initially overwhelming.. navigating things like
quarterly taxes
business licenses
marketing and finding clients
how to find the language to describe who i am and what i could offer
how to mitigate burnout and get honest with what my capacity is
unexpected insecurities and a lot of mindset work i had to do to become the person i needed to be
You know you want more for yourself and your practice but you feel stuck. Grad school didn’t prepare you for this.
You don’t have to feel this lost. And you definitely don’t need to settle.
Let’s work together to make your practice dreams come true.
Whether that’s:
More income
More time freedom
Better aligned clients
More efficient systems
I can help.
Because being a great therapist is only part of the equation.
You also need to know how to market, communicate your value with clear messaging, create systems that save you time, and make business decisions with confidence.
That’s where I come in- with the business education you wish you’d gotten in grad school — without the overwhelm.
